THE 54TH ANNUAL STEUBEN DAY PARADE
AND
FDNY STEUBEN ASSOCIATION COLLATION
(Named In Honor of Jerry Carmosin)
Another great day was had by all on this the last weekend of the Summer of 2011.
The 54th Annual Parade saw a good turnout
and a brisk pace in the before noon march up 5th Ave.
Our Banner Leads...
Kids have the best seat riding up 5th Ave
Chauffeur Elite Mike Musich mans the helm
Fred Spiegler in his 48th year
pauses for a picture before going down to the Collation.
The big crowd gathers for refreshment and good German Food
(and later the bands...)
Chief Horst Klinge of the Northern Hessen Fire District
presents Dave Schleyer with a plaque of their logo.
Chief Reiner Graupe (right) stands in.

Sukanya Krishnan stopped in to partake in the festivities.
"Sukie" as she is affectionately known is the Award Winning Anchor and Reporter of the WB 11 Morning News which can be seen from 6-9 am,
Monday to Friday on Channel 11.
Her son really had a great time. Husband, Lt. Eric Schroeder is pictured, left.
We were honored to have her there.
In a switch of hats, (this happens a lot) Retired Deputy Chief Richie Fuerch (left)
poses with German Firefighter Thomas Muller of the MTU Fire Dept.
Later with the help of (left to right) Britney Kregler, Caroline Schule, Jen Kretschmer
and Anjelica Varuzza who collected for the 50/50, we were able to collect $1600.00
Thanks Girls!
Sabine Liesack, a Firefighter from Berlin (Blankenburg)
is the winner of half the pot of $800.00
It was a great day to be German!
